Digital Strategy for one of Portugal’s leading civil engineering consultancies
The Challenge
Our client main challenge was to strengthen and elevate its existing digital strategy for 2025–2028, supporting its ambition to become a recognised global digital leader across Energy, Mobility and Sustainable Cities.
The company already had a strong foundation, combining deep engineering expertise with innovation, strategic thinking and a distinctive multidisciplinary culture. The next step was to bring an external, global perspective to challenge assumptions, introduce fresh ideas and refine the existing digital roadmap, particularly in response to the rapidly growing role of AI and digital technologies.
What we did
We developed a structured framework to assess, prioritise and strengthen our clients' digital initiatives, turning its existing digital ambitions into a practical strategic roadmap.
Each initiative was assessed against three core dimensions: client demand, profitability and implementation complexity. This provided a consistent, evidence-based way to understand where the strongest opportunities existed and what strategy should be adopted for each one.
Our work combined internal stakeholder engagement, market and competitor research, business model analysis and assessment of the resources and capabilities required to deliver each initiative. We then used these insights to prioritise the portfolio and define the most appropriate approach whether to build internally, partner with external providers, scale an existing capability or stimulate market demand.
The analysis ultimately informed a 2025–2028 digital strategic roadmap, setting out priority initiatives, required activities and resources, business models, success KPIs and a clear path from strategy to implementation.
